It’s finally over, the story wasn’t epic but the girls’ acting skills were definitely epic. Especially Nezumi, she had a high amount of screen time and many high level acting to perform and she pulled it off very nicely. Mayuyu, well done :)

But alas, they just simply placed the rest of the girls into Yabakune and call it a drama that every single AKB member participated in. You can take a look at Majisuka2’s official cast page, as you know I have translated them but I will refuse to translate this one simply because they seem to beat the purpose. Just like previous season, they stuff all the other members into the finale.

There’s another thing that caught my attention, Miso only appeared for 2 episodes…

I’ve read on 2ch also that because Maeda is casting in another drama as well, they can’t take the risk to let Maeda perform fighting scenes. Even those that she was beating the boys aren’t actually performed by Maeda herself… Until the end, she never got to an actual fight.

There were also a lot of criticism about Shibuya, why did she start crying all of the sudden? Did the police threw down tear bombs? Simply doesn’t make sense, she had the guts to betray Majijo, she had the guts to declare war on Majijo, she had the guts to stand in front of Sado without being ashamed, yet… She cried? Okay, I’m not gonna comment any further on this.

The girls definitely did their best, their skills and performance are certainly better compared to the previous season. The one who wrote the script is to be blamed. If it’s Aki-P he should go back to writing lyrics, find another talented guy to write the script for this drama.

But as an overall, the story wasn’t too bad. Like Shibuya betraying Majijo which is very reasonable, the sudden twist when Nezumi started jumping with her bandaged leg, Center’s feelings towards Nezumi, these were all very epic. However the story didn’t end up properly, it affects the overall image of the drama unfortunately.

The only thing Majisuka2 never failed was the next episode’s preview, made people think that every single episode will be epic but the episode themselves fail to meet the expectation.

Following the end of this season, there’s still a lot of questions left to be answered. The most significant one from me will be why Maeda doesn’t notice that the lieutenant look very similar to her friend Takamina?

Next week will be the finale, with some high hopes of the final episodes, I think I will write some of my thoughts on the whole season.

Hmm… To be frank, it seems like we arrive at the finale rather unknowingly. It feels like the whole story only starts at episode 4.

At first I thought the whole plot of this season will be Nezumi and Center taking the Teppen, but it seems that there’s keep on branching battles and other battles coming in, they can never really concentrate on beating Rappappa. As opposed to season 1, which used the graduation ceremony as the ending scene, there’s no sign of graduation this season. It could well mean that 3rd years will still be in school and there’s hope for next season as well.

Nezumi and Center are the main characters this time, and their screen time is significantly more than the other members (considering Maeda that only appeared for 2~4 minutes every episode before this lol).

The finale’s title will be “Youth and Carelessness”, the same title as the ending song for Majisuka 2.

So, this episode’s main topics.

• Maeda returns and goes to Yabakune to say something. Shibuya finally gets to meet with Maeda. The two of them tries to fight against each other, but Nezumi reports to the police that Maeda is heading towards Yabakune and Lieutenant appears in Yabakune. Shibuya tells Dance to take off her clothes and lets Maeda wear Yabakune’s uniform to escape.
• Nakamata criticizes on Nezumi’s loneliness saying that you think the world is in your hands? so sorry, and Sutegoro part ways with Nezumi.
• Nezumi and Center finally going well together (announcing that their relationship is finally steady, maybe? lol)

Gakuran sending off Maeda who wants to finish the deal with Yabakune.

The high school student violent case’s main suspect is heading towards Yabakune, reports Nezumi through phone anonymously.

In Yabakune, Shibuya officially declares war and records her speech in VTR where Dance is the director.

At the same time, Nezumi comes to Sutegoro.

Nakamata is quite a yankee that understands justice and moral. Hearing Nezumi reporting to the police about Maeda she feels very shocking, she says she doesn’t want to listen to the dirty Nezumi, further criticizing that she thinks that the world is in her hands.

“What do you believe in?”

“Nothing. Not in friendship nor allies. At this age do you still talk about friendships? I hate these kind of things. When I see those that pretend to be kind and good I’ll vomit.”

“How lonely. There’s no need! We don’t need Nezumi. We aren’t allies with you.”

This further illustrates the image of Nezumi’s loneliness.

Center comes to this pool, which has no water in it and starts doing Kenkenpa while thinking what she can do for Nezumi.

Nezumi, being said by Sutegoro that she’s lonely, recalling Center saying that no matter what they’re still friends while doing Kenkenpa.

Center appears saying “I’m thinking what I can do for you” in the hall where Nezumi is alone. Nezumi refuses to answer to Center’s question, turns bad and yells “How does it feel being beaten by your friend? Why don’t you hate me, I hate you!” despite her words, her punches on Center is relatively weak.

Center fights back. Friendship doesn’t last if there’s no real conflict, something like that? This has been the theme of a manga in Japan as well.

“If you want a friend so much go find others!” shouts Nezumi. In respond to this, Center cries “Even so don’t say you hate me, I need you, don’t make yourself lonely.”

Center hugs Nezumi. Given the same situation I probably wouldn’t do the same thing. No matter how bad, no matter being betrayed how many times, only Center could forgive or disregard.

This specific scene is sooooo good. It symbolizes Nezumi’s dark side very well. We should believe ourselves, believe in our feelings and go ahead with life, this is what I think after looking at this scene.

This scene is also great. Specially Center, which emphasizes that she requires Nezumi, Nezumi is being required. The moment Nezumi starts crying is also epic.

This should bring these 2 together from now on.

Maeda coming to Yabakune meets with Shibuya.

“Stop declaring war” says Maeda.

As with Majisuka 1 episode 6, Shibuya says to Maeda, “Come on, Maeda”. Maeda in respond to this also says “Come on, Shibuya”.

But hearing that the police has come, Shibuya instructs Dance to take off her shirts. Shibuya lets Maeda wear Dance’s shirts to escape.

Episode 10’s main topics

• Maeda comes back to Rapapa’s room since the first episode lol. Yuko, who is going to die said to Maeda “Find out why cherry blossoms bloom”, “Be stronger” and passed the cherry blossoms to Maeda. Maeda had been feeding on the cherry blossoms and fighting against men to be stronger. However after finishing the cherry blossoms she still can’t find the answer, there she meets with Yuka and Yuki, telling Maeda that before Yuko passed away Yuko said “I’m happy”, Maeda tells Otabe “Yuko found the answer” based on that.
• In order to defeat Majijo, Habu invites help from nearby high schools, forcing Shibuya to choose sides, Shibuya puts on her Yabakune badge and finally decides to start a full scale war against Majijo.
• The fact that Nezumi betrayed Center starts spreading around the school, even the “Tsu” Union members are accusing Nezumi as a traitor. Being beaten by pinions. Center comes to help Nezumi, and beats up those who are unfriendly towards Nezumi “If you have something to say say it to me” “No matter how many times I’m gonna be betrayed you’re still my only true friend” says Center.

In season 1, the lonely Maeda finally understands the meaning of “friendship” with Daruma, understands the kindness of friendship and changes her attitude. In season 2, it seems Nezumi will understand the meaning of “friendship” this time :).

Even in season 1, Nezumi had been having fun by watching Maeda beating up opponents. She must be thinking if I had such power and strength, that eye of loneliness must be very handsome.

If it’s someone normal, Nezumi wouldn’t even care about it. But having such a friend, regardless of betraying how many times, calling how many times, a friend who will never ever reject. Up till now she had never have such a friend, and so she seems to be shaken and shows some never to be seen reaction.

Hey pinions, you’re kicking Nezumi? lol. A person who doesn’t know what love is gets liked by someone for the first time, Nezumi, never experienced “being cared by someone else”  starts getting crazy.

Center, against the “Tsu” Union members who say “No one is going to listen to your command” to Nezumi, replies with “I will listen!”

“Why do you want to support this kind of person?” Center being questioned, “I’m not being betrayed, I’m just being tried to betray only” telling “Tsu” Union while beating them up.

“I’m following you only because of Center” says the “Tsu” Union members.

“Yeah, Center is my true friend. If you have anything to say please tell Center” says Nezumi taking advantage of Center’s kindness lol.

“No matter how many times I will be in a situation of almost being betrayed, you’re still my true friend” says Center, confused Nezumi walks to her own room.

Nezumi talks to Nakamata in Sutegoro’s hideout. So in this war, how is Sutegoro going to come out?

Team Under occupying Nezumi’s room. “You pinions” says Nezumi, “You are the enemy of the entire school” says Team Under.

“Where is the ‘everyone’?” Center appears. She chases away Team Under.

Nezumi, looking into the mirror, maybe she realizes that she herself started changing.

Nezumi very confused starts going crazy.

“Don’t run” says Center, “I have never been cared by someone this way before, I’ve never lifted my eyes, don’t count on me!” Nezumi runs away from the room.

Center tells Nezumi “You and I have always been equal.”

Nezumi very confused.

Black finally appears as she visits Gekikara!!! She says “It’s good to be a student” even if her child is a boy, she’ll still send him to Majijo.

Majijo is a place where you can learn important things besides studying, it seems.

The room where Yuko stayed before passing away, “Find out why cherry blossoms bloom”, “Be stronger” says Yuko to Maeda, Yuko passes the cherry blossoms to Maeda.

Shibuya visits Gekikara. Shibuya removes her Yabakune badge and chats with Gekikara.

Gekikara says that if she wears back her uniform, she will beat Shibuya up. These 2 being former Shitenou are also friends. Setting the stage in a place where there is no relation with the war, shows that they are yankees that can distinguish friendships. This scene also shows the dawn of war.

Despite confused, Nezumi is still Nezumi. This, I’m afraid is not sending messages to Sutegoro. It seems that Nezumi is reporting about Maeda to the police in next week’s episode.

Center doing “Kenkenpa”. Regarding this place, there was a scene of Nezumi doing Kenkenpa here and it was one of the turning point of the whole season.

That Nezumi, she had been lying to Center ever since this season started. Even now, trying to abuse the fact that Center likes her.

There is also a scene where Nezumi beats Center “Friend friend friend friend friend, it’s very noisy!”

Nezumi afraid that she cannot be herself again.

This gathering, Center is in between as well.

Main topics of episode 9. This episode mainly revolves around Nezumi and Center, they both got a nice amount of screen time :)

• Since childhood, Center experienced the violence of her father hitting her mother and this seems to serve as Center’s memory trauma, which she recalls when she defends Nezumi from being hit. Nezumi also has a bad father “Watanabe Yuzo” who is a corrupted politician and being bashed heavily on media. In this episode, we see how these 2 come to know each other, they also speak about the desire of killing their own father. The scene ended when the 2 revealed that they had something in common.
• Nezumi, in order to trick Center has been ordering Yabakune like she is the commander of them. Yabakune fights with Nezumi before Center comes, here Center appears. Both of them fight bare-handed against the armed and numbered Yabakune, unable to win Kanburi (Shimazaki) lied Yabakune that the police are coming and ends the fight.
• Nezumi watches Center who fights for herself and stands against enemies for a number of times, recalling that she shouted “Don’t be alone” to her mother when her mother left her alone. When Nezumi sees Center is in disadvantage, despite the fact that what she wanted was to beat up Center Nezumi still helps Center out, a situation and formation that is similar to Majisuka 1’s Maeda and Sado. Nezumi finally gets to have the BGM that is heard when Maeda takes out her glasses.
• “I betrayed, I sold you to Yabakune. I am not qualified at all to be your friend” says Nezumi, Center replies “I knew it from the way Yabakune were waiting. Despite that, I still believed that you would fight with me in the end. When a friend calls, how can I not go?” Both of them hug each other.
• Habu4 (the 4 members of Barefoot Society) asks if Shibuya is fighting as Yabakune’s leader without caring for Maeda, Shibuya denies, Habu4 goes to Sutegoro in order to fight with Majijo. This episode’s title “One and only true friend” is not only for Center and Nezumi, it also talks about Shibuya and Dance.
• Nezumi is somehow connected to Sutegoro as well, she was eating cup-ramen in Sutegoro’s hideout.

“Majijo, Yabakune, we’ll just destroy both of them. Because Center is my true friend.” says Nezumi in Sutegoro’s hideout. Nezumi is aiming at this chance since now both Majijo and Yabakune lost their fire power (most of their students are hurt), she’ll let Center beat up Rapapa and stand on the Teppen, seems like it, lol.

Center beaten up Choukoku, Yabakune seems to recognize the fact that Center is strong as well, “In order to trick Center, we purposely follow you here.” complains Yabakune to Nezumi.

“Those who betray their friends are the worst.” tells Habu4 to Nezumi.

Comeback says “Majijo students are still Majijo even if they die.” Majijo is still their enemy, since Nezumi is Majijo, that means Nezumi is their enemy as well :)

“Average score of 30”, “Idiots are born to be used by others” says Nezumi and fights against the “idiots” Yabakune. But Yabakune is numbered, Nezumi soon falls into disadvantage (without losing too much of her pride if she kneels down).

Nezumi seems to be one who knows how to dodge well and not fight straight up, avoid the strong and strike them at their weakest :)

Fighting beautifully against the armed and numbered Yabakune, Nezumi unfortunately still falls. Before Yabakune manage to blow Nezumi up, Center arrives. Yabakune says “This is a dirty gal”

Long time ago, her mother was beaten up violently by her father, in this scene Center defends Nezumi and recalls about it.

When she recalls saying “Don’t be alone”, she says it to Nezumi as well.

Nezumi, looking at Center, who is fighting frantically to defend herself (Nezumi).

Finally, just when Center is going to lose the fight, Nezumi comes in to help out.

“I won’t let you be alone,” says Nezumi to Center.

“It’s my first time fighting a losing battle.”

Kanburi lies that “Police is coming” and Yabakune escapes.

Nezumi rejects to let Center wipe her bloody lips once, but Center still insist and Nezumi gives up.

Nezumi and Center, the so called Majijo Next Generation. Habu4 reports that they beaten Nezumi and Center up. Thinking that Shibuya will praise them, instead Shibuya scolds them.

“Which flag are you waving? Please lead us without thinking of Maeda all the time!” says Habu4 and gets beaten by Shibuya. Habu leaves.

Only Dance is the one left with the lonely Shibuya. Dance starts dancing some weird and funny dance lol, this is really hilarious. But then she gets beaten and bleeds in the nose again.

“I like this kind of pain after fighting,” says Center, “Such an idiot” says Nezumi. Center says “I want to be more idiot.” She then tells Nezumi that she is going to fight with Otabe.

“The only thing important is Yankee Soul, when you are forced to do it, you’ll do it.”

“Fiery indeed.”

“You became fiery as well (when fighting against Yabakune).”

“I believed it. That you won’t just look at me getting beaten. Nezumi, in this world, my only friend is you.”

“I’m not qualified. I betrayed you. I sold you to Yabakune.”

“I already know it. From the way Yabakune were waiting.”

“… then why?”

“When called by a friend, you can only go. Then I knew it, you will fight with me in the end.”

“You’re such a kid. You can’t live on by only being fiery. Friend? I’ve never looked at you as a friend.”

“We’re coupled and walking like this. We’re friends. Until now. And from now on.” then they hug each other.

“友造”, where 友 = friends and 造 = make, so it’s making friends? Cool lol

Center’s childhood. Watching father violently beating up her mother, Center starts having the intent to kill her father.

Similarity, or the fact that they both grown up in a family that lacks love is indeed their similarity.

Habu4 comes to Sutegoro’s hideout. They’re here without Shibuya, in order to end the war with Majijo, they’ve come to ask for help.

So which are we going to support? Ichimi asks Nakamata.

If we put 10 metal balls on the right of the seesaw, and 9 on the left the seesaw will fall to the right, as all of the left’s balls will roll towards the right.

Won’t all of the balls fall of in the end and the seesaw gets balanced again?

“So, what would you do, Nezumi?” asks Nakamata to Nezumi who is sitting and eating cup ramen.

What the hell is Nezumi doing here? lol

“No matter which way the seesaw falls, Yabakune and Majijo, we’ll just beat up both. Because Center is my only true friend.”

Dance is Shibuya’s “only true friend” :)

Nakamata will support the side which the seesaw falls to. By the way, there was a “Political Economy” book right?
